I have many movies which I consider my favorite. If I had to choose 1 movie I would watch over and over again than I would say it would have to be Babel. The reason why I chose this movie is because there were so many stories that intertwined and so many events going on at the same time. You had 2 kids in Morocco who accidentally shot a tourist. You had their story along with the husband of the lady and their kids back home in America dealing with a nanny who is illegal. The story has lots of things going on at the same time whether its immigration or international politics. I liked both the plot and the filmmaking technique of running intertwining stories all at once.
I prefer watching a movie in the theatres. You get to be out of the house and enjoy the night with someone special and get to watch it on a big screen with nice surround sound. The disadvantage to this of course is spending money and sometimes long lines if it’s a busy night like a Friday night. I believe there are more advantages to watching it at home since its cheaper and of course the food is cheaper as oppose to buying it at a concession stand.
I actually thought overall the academy awards were well put together. I normally don’t watch it because it just seems like people are competing over who is the best dressed and who gives the most fake applauses and laughing at things that isn’t funny. Although I did see some of that this year, I thought the show was pretty good. All of the nominees pretty much deserved to be there and the movies were really good. Nothing to political either with the exception of Penn so I did enjoy the show this year and might tune in next year as well.
